Freelance Program Manager | Complex strategic programs

We are expanding our freelance network and are looking for experienced Program Managers who can lead complex, multi-project programs at a strategic level. This is not a vacancy for one specific assignment. We aim to build a strong and reliable pool of freelance Program Managers with whom we can develop long-term collaborations and deploy on high-impact programs when opportunities arise.

You operate at senior leadership level and take end-to-end responsibility for complex programs with multiple interdependent projects and stakeholders. You are broadly deployable across sectors and domains, and comfortable navigating organizational complexity, executive dynamics, and strategic ambiguity.

For this pool specifically, we are not looking for niche specialists tied to one industry, methodology, or type of transformation. We are looking for versatile Program Managers who can step into diverse environments, quickly grasp strategic context, and create structure and direction regardless of sector.

Key Responsibilities;

• Lead and steer complex programs consisting of multiple projects and project managers

• Translate strategic objectives into structured execution and governance

• Safeguard alignment, prioritization, and value realization at program level

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior and executive stakeholders

• Manage risk, dependencies, and decision-making across the program landscape

• Proven experience as a Program Manager in complex environments

• Demonstrated track record in leading multi-project, high-impact programs

• High sense of business acumen: ability to translate strategic goals into actionable plans

• Experience engaging with C-level and senior leadership

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
